What it takes to make the cut
There's a reason the collection is small. It isn't that we can't find more villas — there are thousands out there. It's that most of them don't clear the bar.
We list the best, not the most
Anyone can put ten thousand houses online and let you sort through them. That's not what we do. Villa Experts is an edit — the best-rated, best-looking, best-run homes across the Mediterranean, and not much else. If a villa doesn't earn its place, it isn't here.
The bar a villa has to clear
- Guest ratings that hold up. We start with how real guests actually scored their stay. Consistently high, or it doesn't make the list.
- Interiors that feel like now. Beautiful, modern, well-kept. Tired décor and dated bathrooms don't belong in a collection that calls itself the best.
- Honest photography. The pictures have to match the place — no wide-angle tricks, no “sea view” you'd need a ladder to see.
- A home that's run well. Reliable owners and managers who answer in July, not just in January.
Why small is the point
Every villa we add is one more we have to stand behind — so we stay deliberately picky. A shorter list you can trust beats an endless one you have to wade through. When a home like Villa Tiziano above Positano or Villa Céleste on the Côte d'Azur makes the cut, it's because it's genuinely among the best the coast has to offer — not because it happened to be available.
Not a listings site. An edit. We keep it small on purpose — so that when a villa is here, it means something.
